Sticky orange & star anise duck breast w/ roasted piccolo tomatoes + caramelized onion 🌶

  • Fresh duck breast
  • Piccolo tomatoes
  • Red onion
  • Butter
  • Sliced orange
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 clove
  • Salt
  • Brown sugar
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Ginger powder
  • Cumin powder
  • Soy sauce
  • Worcester sauce
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Mustard powder
  • Star anise
  • Liquid Maggie seasoning
  • Sesame seed oil
  • Water


  1. To begin, prep the duck breast by cleaning it with fresh lemon juice and rinsing with water, and pat the duck breast with tissue till dry. This ensures a crispy skin.
  2. Then, heat the frying pan and add a tablespoon of butter, two garlic cloves, and sliced oranges. 0-1
  3. Preheat the oven on low/medium heat
  4. Until the oranges and garlic are golden brown, add the duck breast to the pan on its skin. Season the duck and sauce with; 1 clove, 2 star anise, salt, black pepper, a bit of garlic powder, ginger powder, mustard powder, cumin powder, a splash of soy sauce, Worcester sauce, ACV,  liquid Maggie seasoning and lastly sesame seed oil.0-3
  5. Then, take the duck breast out of the pan and into the oven for 20 minutes 0-4
  6. While the duck is cooking, add a tablespoon of brown sugar to the sauce and water and let it thicken on a low heat
  7. When the duck is brown and cooked to your liking transfer it from the oven to the pan with the now sticky orange and star anise sauce.
  8. On another pan get the piccolo tomatoes and sliced red onion and lightly cover them in oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Add to the oven on medium heat for 10 minutes. Once they are cooked transfer it to the pan with the duck and sauce. And it’s done! IMG_0421
